When you arrive at Chanti's place, you see the expression of her creativity. 'Wabi Sabi' is her slogan, which means for her 'The beauty of the imperfection'. She shows it by the way she has built her house and developed her area in a process of several years. There was nothing determined. Chanti’s house, the two guesthouses and the decoration are made of parts from the nature around her, like stones and wood, especially bamboo. On her turn, she gives the nature space to let grow vegetables, fruits and herbs. Chanti is open to the personality and creativity of the guests. Come, see and enjoy Chanti's beautiful place!
I thought I’d seen the most beautiful places in Costa Rica, but then I arrived at Chanti’s place! It really felt like paradise. It’s not like a normal holiday-place, you really are part of this piece of nature. Chanti is so welcoming, the surrounding is so beautiful and peaceful! I’m thankful for meeting Chanti and my time at Jungle Joy Retreat!
Infinite nature awakes in the lush valley surrounded by mountains and giant trees that shroud this place in whispers. The rhythm of cool trickling dewdrops entice to fling down the biological washed sheets. In this eco friendly “Jungle Joy” where I stay, owner Chanti caresses nature as she caresses her guests. The sun ascends slowly higher in the sky. Above the green tree line her first beams touch the Pacific Ocean…..an exuberant but peaceful day is awaking. Chanti’s name means peace in the Hindi language.
….. nature is calling, life is calling… ….de howler monkeys howl, the toucan produces his special call, the shrill whistle of the cricket,…..an almost deafening concert chasing away the serene quietness of the dawn.
In paradise all moments are lovely, but breakfast at the long table brings heaven on earth. With the abundance of the fresh Costa Rican fruits that are served by Chanti every morning. With her hideout and her charming personality, Chanti makes everybody’s dream come true. She created the whole place by herself and each and every detail melts organically into the surrounding nature……just like Chanti, frisky, in balance and with a certain naughtiness. The impression that sticks into one’s memory is that this world has become your world. You feel at home here, everyone will feel at home here!
